Forbes Removes Kanye West from the World Billionaire List!

The condition of the world's famous rapper, Kanye West's relationship with the companies that become his partners has made him lose his status as a world billionaire.

Reported by CNN Business, Wednesday (10/26/2022), in the last few weeks, the superstar who is familiarly called Ye ended his business cooperation with Balenciaga, Gap and most recently Adidas.

The end of the cooperative relationship was caused by Ye's comments that contained anti-Semitism, as well as his actions in wearing a shirt with a slogan associated with the Ku Klux Klan.

On Tuesday, Forbes, the wealth tracking platform for the world's financial elite, said it had removed Ye from its billionaires list.

It is estimated that Ye's agreement with Adidas contributed as much as US$1.5 billion or equivalent to Rp. 23.4 trillion (exchange rate 15,600) of his total net worth. Now Forbes estimates Ye's wealth is only US $ 400 million or equivalent to Rp. 6.24 trillion.

Forbes said the remainder of his net worth came from real estate assets, cash, his music catalog and a 5% stake in SKIMS, the shapewear company owned by his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

Chances are, Ye still considers himself a billionaire, given that for years he's been complaining that Forbes seems to be underestimating his net worth.

Forbes reported that in 2020, when he first listed him as a billionaire, Ye sent a short message with the intention of protesting to the magazine.

"It's not a billion. It's $3.3 billion because no one at Forbes knows how to calculate it," Forbes said.

As for this year's valuation, Ye sent a document to Forbes claiming his partnership with Adidas is worth US$4.3 billion or equivalent to Rp. 67.08 trillion. He also claims that his net worth is now around US$ 7 billion or equivalent to Rp. 109.2 trillion.
